About the CPKP

Are you passionate about kink and BDSM? Do you have a deep respect for consent, safety, and community ethics? Do you want to take your knowledge and skills to the next level while making a meaningful impact in the lives of others? Then the Certified Professional Kink Practitioner (CPKP)
program is for you!

This program is designed to provide comprehensive, in-depth education and hands-on training for individuals seeking to become respected professionals in the kink community.

Participants may complete the full foundational training or take individual modules at their own pace, making the program accessible for those who are balancing other professional or personal commitments.

Enrollment is open year-round. Begin when you’re ready.

Certifying Body

The Kink Professional Standards Alliance (KPSA) is the governing body for all certification programs under its umbrella. KPSA sets and maintains the ethical, professional, and educational standards for kink based care, including Therapeutic BDSM, the Certified Professional Kink Practitioner program, and other approved offerings. KPSA provides rigorous, identity informed, trauma responsive, and community grounded oversight for all credentialing processes.

Why This Program?

The Certified Professional Kink Practitioner Program is a flexible training experience designed to meet people where they are in their professional journey. Participants may enroll at any time through rolling enrollment, allowing you to begin the program when it best fits your schedule.

The program combines recorded educational modules, community discussion, and live monthly office hours with educators.

Program Structure

The program is divided into two phases:

Foundational Training

The foundational curriculum consists of nine core modules covering the essential knowledge, ethics, and skills required to work professionally in kink-centered spaces.

Participants may complete the foundational training in one of two ways:

• Enroll in the full foundational program
• Take individual modules one at a time

*Participants who complete the nine foundational modules within 18 months will be eligible to receive the Certified Professional Kink Practitioner (CPKP) certification.


Specialty Mastery Tracks

After completing the foundational training, participants may continue into specialty mastery tracks focused on specific kink practices such as rope, impact play, fire play, and other advanced topics.

Specialty tracks are offered periodically throughout the year and allow participants to deepen their knowledge in a particular area of practice.

Participants who complete a specialty track will receive additional certification indicating their area of specialization.


Monthly Office Hours

The program offers monthly live office hours.

These sessions provide space to:

• Ask questions about course material
• Discuss real-world applications
• Receive mentorship and guidance from educators

Office hours are held:

First Saturday of every month
11:00 AM Eastern Time

Students must attend a minimum of 7 sessions.

Investment Options

Participants may enroll in the program in the way that best fits their learning style and schedule.

Foundational Program (Full Package)

Complete all foundational training modules as a comprehensive program.

Investment: $3,137

KPSA Members receive 20% off the foundational package.


Module-by-Module Enrollment

Participants may also enroll one module at a time.

Each module may be applied toward the CPKP certification.

Advanced specialty training offered periodically throughout the year.

Equity-based pricing is reserved for individuals who hold identities that have historically faced structural barriers in clinical, wellness, and kink spaces.

This includes, but is not limited to:

• LGBTQIA+ individuals
• People with disabilities
• Individuals from low-income or system-impacted backgrounds

Equity pricing is offered using an honor system.

Participants selecting the equity rate affirm that the pricing reflects their lived circumstances and access to resources.

Learn how to engage with clients from a variety of backgrounds, identities, and experiences while promoting inclusivity and accessibility.

Take It as a Stand-Alone or as Foundational Training for TBCN

The Certified Professional Kink Practitioner Program can be taken as a stand-alone certification or as foundational training for those interested in applying for inclusion in the Therapeutic BDSM Collaborative Network (TBCN). For individuals who wish to continue their professional journey within TBCN, this program will give you the necessary tools and ethical grounding to begin the application process.

Discount for Applied Therapeutic BDSM Certification

For those who choose to continue on the path to becoming a pro within the TBCN, you will be eligible for a 50% discount on the Applied Therapeutic BDSM Certification training. This discount ensures that you receive continued professional development and a deeper integration of kink and therapeutic rinciples, further enhancing your ability to serve your clients effectively and ethically.
